Did you know California is redrawing its political district lines this year? Redistricting happens only once every 10 years—this is our chance to speak up and make sure our communities’ interests are represented for the next decade. This summer, California’s line-drawers will collect input on which areas and communities should be kept together in a district. It’s important for us to share who our communities are and where they are located, so our communities don’t lose political power this year.
To learn more about CA’s state redistricting process, join us for the first of our four-part workshop series:
Introduction to Redistricting: Tuesday, June 15, 5:30 - 6:30 PM, register
here or
Introduction to Redistricting: Thursday, June 17, 1:00 - 2:00 PM, register
here
In this workshop series, we will help you understand what redistricting is, why it matters, and how you can take action to shape the maps.
Please be sure to register for each workshop in advance using the links above. Because this is a non-partisan, community-focused effort, we ask that current and recent candidates, office-holders, and staffers for Congress and the state legislature not attend.
