LOS ANGELES – Starting April 18th, Asian Americans Advancing Justice – Los Angeles (Advancing Justice – LA) will expand its free English as a Second Language (ESL) and civics courses—currently offered in Koreatown, Chinatown, Temple City, Rosemead, and San Gabriel—through the addition of locations in El Sereno and El Monte. This expansion is designed to reach the underserved Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) communities of the San Gabriel Valley and help address a growing need for English classes for citizenship.
To expand its reach of legal services in the growing Filipino community, non-profit organization Asian Americans Advancing Justice — Los Angeles has launched a free Tagalog helpline to assist the community with citizenship issues.
Advancing Justice - LA will be joining local organizations at a Mega Workshop and Citizenship Fair at Long Beach Convention Center serving up to 1,000 applications.
LOS ANGELES — For Hugh Tra, an immigrant from Vietnam who says he has been politically active since high school, U.S. foreign policy is personal.

Our mission is to advocate for civil rights, provide legal services and education, and build coalitions to positively influence and impact Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders and to create a more equitable and harmonious society.
