Health Justice

The Health Access Project addresses the health-related needs of Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (NHPI) communities and immigrants. Advancing Justice - LA advocates with policy makers on health care reform implementation and works with community partners to educate Asian American and NHPI community members and small businesses. Advancing Justice - LA also works on other related issues, such as public benefits access and cultural and linguistic barriers to services.

Advancing Justice - LA’s research on Asian Americans and NHPIs includes demographic profiles, reports on voter and political participation, and other projects aimed at promoting a better understanding of our growing and diverse communities.

Criminal Justice Reform

Advancing Justice - LA advocates to ensure that the voices of Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders  who are directly impacted by the criminal justice system are heard in shaping public policies affecting them. We work in multiracial coalitions with other affected communities to reduce over-incarceration and ensure effective allocation of resources for education, health, and social services.

Educational Opportunity and Empowerment

Through data, research, advocacy, and education, Advancing Justice - LA seeks to provide a more accurate picture of the issues facing Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander students in accessing higher education. We also build coalitions and advocate for policies that increase access and equity in higher education in California.
