Project Director - Immigration

Aman Thind is Advancing Justice-LA’s Immigration Project Director. Aman oversees the team that provides legal assistance with adjustment of status, asylum, representation in immigration court, Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), and Deferred Action for Parental Accountability (DAPA). Prior to Advancing Justice-LA, Aman worked as a staff attorney at Legal Services for Children in San Francisco, where she represented children in the areas of probate, immigration, dependency, and education law and helped start their Detained Immigrant Children's project.  In 2003, Aman co-founded the Immigration Center for Women and Children in Los Angeles, working with victims of domestic violence on VAWA, SIJS and U visa cases.  Aman earned her J.D. from the University of California Berkeley School of Law, and her B.A. in Economics from UCLA.
